Analysis of limitations of ultrasonic plastic welding machine

Ultrasonic plastic welding machine is a mechanical equipment suitable for welding thermoplastic materials such as PP, ABS, and PE. It can be used in many industries such as stationery, jewelry, and daily necessities. The application of this equipment has promoted the development of welding technology and assisted the process of China's Industry 4.0 era. Ultrasonic plastic welding machine has excellent features such as high welding efficiency, high strength, economy, and environmental protection, so it is deeply loved by users. However, this device is not perfect and it has its limitations.

Although the ultrasonic plastic welding machine can weld most thermoplastic materials, the welding area is limited and can only be used to weld relatively small workpieces. For plastic workpieces with relatively large welding areas, the welding cannot be completed as required, so plastic welding equipment such as hot plate welding machines or vibration friction welding machines that can weld large-sized workpieces must be used. Secondly, the design of the welding head of the ultrasonic plastic welding machine is not an easy task. There is a certain degree of difficulty. When the size of the welding workpiece is larger than 250mm*300mm, the welding cannot be completed in one go. At this time, it is necessary to perform multiple weldings with a single welding head or to use multiple welding heads to complete the welding operation.

When ultrasonic welding is used, the quality of welding is related to many factors, such as the material of the plastic workpiece, the design of the weld structure, the design of the mold, etc. And ultrasonic vibrations can easily cause damage to sensitive electronic components despite previous protective measures.
